Sometimes in my hastiness to get the point across I often steam roll my way though things without being mindful of others artistry along the way. I would like to acknowledge Michelle Haymoz for her beautiful photography on my blog post wacky yoga ways. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work Michelle.
This week I'm off to the Ashtanga Yoga Confluence! I've been working like crazy designing T-shirts for this week's event. Of course my first gig on wheels should be there, as it was for the Ashtanga yoga center that I printed my first tees, and two times I was fortunate to make tees when Guriji visited.
It was at his world tour where I met Lena Gardelli, the artist of my beautiful orange goddess paintings in the store.
I so love Guruji's quotes, best known for; "Do your practice and all is coming!" Now that my yoga practice consists mainly of walking the beach and climbing rocks my favorite quote is Guruji is: "Ashtanga Yoga is an internal practice, the rest is just a circus." Ha, just like at the magic castle! I definitely can't put my leg behind my head, but it's going to be a great weekend hanging out with my yoga family and honoring the Master of Ashtanga Yoga. Sri K. Patthabi Jois.
Tim will always be my yoga teacher, and even if I do take a few years off, I know he will always be there. That's the thing about Tim. He is solid!

What a wacky day. . . It all started out with this falling out of my random writings folder:
It was such a busy morning with sewing contractors at 8 am and the screen printers at 9:30. I had to chase down the UPS man as he was driving away with my shirts that I was supposed to be screening! When I finally found him, look what else was in his truck- You know it's going to be a good day when you see this:
Then I ran into this food truck in the Hansen's parking lot! I'll be having our store closing party on St Patty's Day, food trucks and all. Think this could be a good choice?
As I was grabbing my stuff to take to the screen printers, I randomly took this folder too. Why this one of all the hundreds I have?
Everything is coming together. . . did I mention all the screen inks are yoga names too? It's been a wacky yoga day!
Finally I hand screened these new ink snake tanks and dresses with Dave from Moonlight screen printing!!! Thank you Dave for so hooking me up. And thanks to Dave's wife for probably making him?? Love this town!!

Well if that isn't the biggest clump of dog shit on my brand new Vince shoes!!! A picture does tell a thousand words.
When I sat down to write during one of my "wake ups", one of the first theories that came to mind was the dog shit theory. There have been three incidences in the past couple weeks, and I feel compelled to share. Plus I have truly committed to wearing my heart on my sleeve and sharing it with whoever cares to read this blog.
I mean really???
First it was my tennies while on a walk with Cleo my little black dog. I stepped in a huge pile, and just took off the disgusting shoes right away. They needed a good excuse to be thrown away anyway.
And then my Rocket Dog favorite nasty old clogs were another thing! But now my beautiful new treasured Vince Camuto shoes, and on the first day I wore them. Do you see all that dog shit caked in there?
Ok, ok, I will tell you the theory now, take it for what it is. It goes something like this: If I were wearing these amazing shoes, and I walked into your home with a clump of poo attached to my beautiful shoes, would you be ok with that?
I think not. Just, no. JUST SAY NO! The translation carries over into life's relationships in this way. . . Just be done with other people's behavior if you do not like it. It is stinky., and I say, "No thank you."
It doesn't matter who you are or where you came from honay! Shit is shit no matter what and let's not spread it around. If someone walks into your life, your house, your conversation, and you can smell the shit, kindly call it out, speaking your truth. I am trying this on a lot lately and it is not nearly as eloquent as I would like it to be, it is very uncomfortable, and at first not so easy. The idea remains the same even if you want to call it out inwardly, as long as you're being honest with yourself and speaking from the heart. But I have one girlfriend who calls it out and then laughs, humor being good medicine! If I don't laugh at myself and my poor shoes I will cry.
Watch where you step ladies, there is a lot of yucky stuff out there, it is very easy to get sucked in to all the shit!!
On a positive note, I loved Vince's mission statement on the inside of the shoe box! xo
I'm passionate about creating a product that women really want... infusing great style, comfort, and unparalled value for every stage of her life.- Vince Camuto

Somehow when I opened up my blog tonight, this came up. It's a good reminder that once again I really am doing what I love. This is from May 2010.
How many people really have mastered doing what they love?
