I read cards last night at the Village Farm School in Encinitas. What a blast! and what an amazing group of people. I have been reading cards for the past 25 years and I am finally out of the closet and ready to read for parties, events and one on one. It was so fun connecting with so many of you and if you want a follow up please don't hesitate to call, I had such a great time. I also just picked up the latest batch of super cute spring t-shirts and tanks, hope you enjoy.
I started my company and blog for two reasons. One, to tell and share stories, and the other to sell Tshirts, both in hopes of shifting our consciousness. I believe that the written word, as well as the words we speak carry an energy. I do hope you enjoyed my teachers storytelling of Maha Shivaratri and its powerful words.
Like many of you, I am still a student, in constant learning and integration. The best part of falling down is getting up and running again, so with that I forgive all the fakers out there. It is the biggest form of flattery, but I can't say I always like it. You may have seen my instagram post saying f*** off fakers. I will use this venue to say I am sorry if I offended anyone.
Tshirts are a multi billion dollar industry. Not only did someone copy my friends brand but they used CANCER to sell them. After spending 3 years with my own daughter who was being treated for cancer I opened my store in hopes to raise money for charity by selling tee shirts and I did. I thought I could save the world...I was wrong. The once deep conversations soon turned into "material conversations" of only dresses and clothing and I soon lost interest. Don't get me wrong, I love playing barbies and dress up, it's what I do, but it certainly is not what I AM.
The man who copied the Keep a Breast t'shirts printed "help support breast cancer", I was overcome with emotion, I had a crying breakdown. How dare this man make millions of dollars on someone elses brand and spread word of supporting cancer!! Copying brands, music and fashion is a given, like life, it all cycles. Fine, but to copy something and totally get it wrong by sending out messages of supporting cancer I will not stand for. I meant it when I said your mother would be ashamed, we all come from the same mother, Outkast says it best, Mother Earth and we continue to f*** her to death, but she won't stand for that either. I also don't believe that the f*** word is bad unless used to say f off, which by the way, I once said to my own mother in which my father washed my mouth out with soap, braces and all mouth bleeding, see what I mean in cycles. My PR girl was so mad at me she didn't send out my email. I don't blame her, I was mad and possibly needed my mouth washed out for telling the fakers to f off.
I recently visited my home town in Utah where my mother is being treated for stage 4 lung cancer. I cannot remember a more magical time with my family. We played games, ate delicious food, laughed went through all my aunts, grandmothers and mothers jewelry. I left with a shit ton of shoes, 18 to be exact, jewelry and a magic tea pot. I was so happy to have spent this time with my family. My brother and I rebonded and I found that male comfort I was longing for. He and I were always kind of the black sheep of the family, both coming from different fathers and never feeling grounded.
The highlight of the trip was the shopping party hosted by my ridiculously gracious and open hearted sister. My niece came with her new husband. Like most families, people make mistakes fall apart and hopefully reconnect. As women we have been gathering for centuries, the shopping is just an excuse. My mother and I had not seen my niece in over 15 years, the shopping, the gathering the laughing and reconnecting is what it is all about. I pretended to shoot guns, the irony of me with a gun made us all have a good chuckle.
Now I sit at my spiritual sisters house, yes I am in many spritual circles, I have been for years, I am not a witch, but I do believe in the power of LOVE and MAGIC. I know for a fact that without being plugged into the light we are definetely in the dark.
Once upon a time a baby boy was born. His parents took him to a vedic astrologer who told them that the child was born under “unlucky stars”. The parents immediately tossed the boy into the ocean where he was swallowed by a fish and came to live in the fish’s belly. Meanwhile, on Mt Kailas, Parvati asks Shiva to reveal to her the secret practices of yoga, the ones he has never revealed to anyone before. Shiva agrees, but for privacy’s sake, takes Parvati to his secret cave beneath the ocean, sits her on his lap, and begins to expound the secret teachings of yoga that he has never revealed to anyone before. Parvati is so enchanted by Shiva’s teaching that she soon falls asleep and misses many of the important details. However, a fish in the ocean is swimming near to where Shiva and Parvati sit so he can hear Shiva’s discourse on yoga. Inside the fish’s belly, the boy is listening intently to every word Shiva says and receives a transmission of the teaching of yoga. Shiva blesses the boy, names him Matsyendra, the “Lord of the Fishes”, and encourages him to practice the yoga techniques he has just described. Matsyendra practices yoga diligently for the next twelve years within the fish’s belly until he has mastered all the techniques, and then emerges to become the world’s first yoga teacher. Some years later Matsyendra visits a woman who is childless and desperate to conceive. He gives her some ashes and tells her if she eats the ashes she will have a child. When Matsyendra leaves, the silly woman throws the ashes on the village cow dung heap. Twelve years later Matsyendra returns to the village and seeks out the woman he gave the ashes, eager to find out if his remedy has worked. The woman shamefully admits that she threw the ashes on the dung heap. Matsyendra orders her to take him to the dung heap right away. Underneath the cow dung, Matsyendra discovers a beautiful 12 year-old boy performing impeccable sadhana that he had practiced at birth. Matsyendra sprinkles ashes on the boy and names him Goraksha—“cow ash”. As it turns out, Goraksha is an even better yogi than Matsyendra. Some years later, Matsyendra, who has a beautiful physique from doing his yoga asanas, is captured by a band of notorious yoginis and forced to become their sex slave. Matsyendra soon falls into utter dissipation and has to be rescued by Goraksha. Matsyendra is so far gone that he has totally forgotten his yoga practices and has to be reintroduced to them by Goraksha.
